Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This site is operated by Polina Istomina, a private practitioner in functional nutrition and longevity. For the purposes of data protection, Polina Istomina is the data controller responsible for your personal data. To get in touch, see the Contact page.
2. What this website collects
The website itself collects the absolute minimum:
- Language preference — when you choose English or Russian, that choice is saved in your browser's localStorage so the page remembers it next time. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
- No analytics or tracking cookies are currently used. If privacy-respecting analytics are added later (for example, cookieless page-view counts), this policy will be updated accordingly.
- No contact form is used. When you click the Telegram, WhatsApp or Instagram buttons, you are taken to those external platforms, which have their own privacy practices.
The site is served via Cloudflare Pages. As with any web service, your IP address and basic request information may be temporarily logged by the hosting infrastructure for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
3. What is collected through the coaching relationship
When you book a consultation or work with Polina as a client, you may voluntarily share:
- Contact details (name, messaging-app handle, phone number).
- Food diary entries.
- Laboratory results and medical history, to the extent you choose to share them.
- Lifestyle, health goals and self-reported wellbeing information.
- Photographs, if you choose to share them.
- Messages exchanged between you and Polina.
You decide what to share. Nothing is mandatory.
4. Why this data is held (legal basis)
- To deliver the coaching service you requested — performance of a contract.
- For health-related data, your explicit consent under Article 9 of the UK GDPR / GDPR.
- To meet legal record-keeping obligations where these apply (e.g. accounting).
5. Where your data is stored
Information shared during the coaching relationship is stored locally on Polina's personal device. No third-party cloud storage, customer-relationship-management system or email-marketing platform is used to store client data.
Messages sent via Telegram, WhatsApp or Instagram remain within those services' own infrastructure. Their privacy practices are governed separately by the respective providers.
6. Sharing
Your data is not shared with third parties.
When clinically relevant, Polina may suggest discussing your case with a collaborating gastroenterologist or endocrinologist. This only happens with your explicit, case-by-case consent, given in writing through your messenger channel.
Your data is never sold, rented or transferred for marketing purposes.
7. How long your data is kept
Your data is held only for as long as it is reasonably required to deliver the service and allow continuity of care. You may request deletion of your data at any time; this will be carried out within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, for accounting records).
8. Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR / GDPR, including:
- Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data.
- Right to restrict or object to processing.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a usable format.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time.
If you are in Russia, you have analogous rights under Federal Law No. 152-FZ "On Personal Data".
To exercise any of these rights, contact Polina via the Contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK, or Roskomnadzor in Russia.
9. Children
This service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Data is not knowingly collected from minors without verifiable parental consent.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the practice evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated to active clients through their existing messenger channel.
11. Contact for privacy questions
For any question about this policy or how your data is handled, please reach out via Telegram (@i_polina) or WhatsApp (+7 903 282-66-16).
